The results obtained in this study indicate that the MeOH extract of A. ilicifolius possess considerable antinociceptive activity at the invesigated doses on the experimental laboratory animal. This could provide a rationale for traditional uses of this plant in the management of pain and suggests for further investigation and isolation of biologically active constituents responsible for the activity.
