1. Division of work
: Individuals and managers work on the same part or task.
2. Authority and responsibility
: Authority-right to give orders; power to exact obedience; goes with responsibility for reward and punishment.

: Employee receives orders from one superior.

: One head and one plan for activities with the same objective.
6. Subordination of individual interest to general interest
