The first sign of improvement in business performance usually occurs when the project team provides an
environment for the workers to test the new system or process. As workers are given the opportunity to
experience the new environment and how they will perform in it, they have a renewed and more accurate
sense of what their learning curve will be and how it will impact their ability to do their jobs. If this is a positive
experience, workers’ negative feelings will begin to dissipate. On the other hand, the testing could also
yield a negative experience.
