This was our 3rd trip to Ao Nang and we decided to try staying somewhere different – BIG mistake
We had organised transfers from the airport – the guy that picked us up didn’t even attempt to help with our bags. There was no cool towel or bottled water in the vehicle which we had received on both previous trips, which after travelling for almost 12 hours is extremely appreciated.
We arrived at the hotel around 5pm and its was raining we were unloaded on the footpath because the driveway was being setup for the nightly buffet. You then must weave through the cooking stations to get to the front desk where they ask for paperwork and passports and tell you to sit- while they set up tables around you for the buffet.
We then get led up to another reception area (up 2 sets of stairs) where finally a cool towel and a drink are delivered while you fill out more paperwork. This second reception area is completely under- utilised it has driveway access, but they don’t drop you off there and you can’t be picked up for tours there either, they make you go down to street level.
So, this doesn’t turn into a book I can only say this Hotel fails on every level!! If you want a room in a restaurant with little service, poor housekeeping a balcony that’s unusable if it rains or in the middle of the day because it has no roof coverage then this place is ideal. We booked the panorama view room which gave us a brilliant view of two trees and a glimpse of ocean from one corner.
I will say the room was nice enough and it is centrally located but that would be the only positives I could say about this Hotel. Do yourself a favour and don’t book this place unless you’re happy to walk up endless stairs along uncovered walkways and want to feel like you’re in a rabbit warren/restaurant.
The majority of staff only seemed interested in the nightly buffet, after 5 days of staying there I walked in with a large bag of scuba gear after diving and was asked if I was checking in- when I said I had been there a week they lost complete interest and no offer of assistance with an obviously heavy bag. The majority of staff have little to no English and a couple of requests through housekeeping and reception staff fell on deaf ears.
