. Ripen fruits from line Apel
23 showed a 99% inhibition of pectate lyase mRNA levels,
whereas fruits from line Apel 14 showed a 90% inhibition.
Plants were grown in a greenhouse and fruits collected
between May and June. Strawberries were harvested at
the stage of full ripen, i.e. when complete surface was
red, then transported to the lab and stored at 28 C until
used.
