Members from the Vietnamese community were
particularly concerned about stigma against those
who undergo screening, regardless of the test
outcome. This fear is consistent with our finding
that respondents are very cautious about being
seen by other community members in seeking even preventive services because they feel that others
will assume that they have the condition. Also
consistent with our findings, Asian Americans often
frame their attitudes on HBV screening based
on the eagerness of their family and friends to be
screened
