Soothes the Stomach
Bananas help relieve an upset stomach by stimulating mucous production in your stomach lining. Bananas are part of the BRAT diet, which is often recommended for kids with gastrointestinal problems, particularly diarrhea. BRAT stands for bananas, rice cereal, applesauce and toast. All are binding foods that make stools harder, easing diarrhea. Bananas also are a bland food with a creamy mouth-feel that can be soothing when you’re feeling under the weather.
