Morphology properties of cur@star
Based on its superior storage stability, high loading ability and
loading efficiency, the morphology of cur@star 3 wt% was observed
via TEM the image of which was shown in Fig. 6. Cur@star 3 wt%
contained nanoparticles which had roughly spherical shape with
the diameter about 100 nm. The size is lower than that revealed by
dynamic light scattering listed in Table 1 which is due to the drying
effect during TEM sample preparation (Li, Lee, et al., 2015; Li, Shin,
et al., 2015). Also, the nanoparticles aggregated with each other
formed the grape like structure. Other studies also reported similar
morphology properties of starch based nanoparticles and the drying
treatment for preparing TEM sample maybe the reason for the
aggregation (Pang, Tay, & Chin, 2014; Shi, Wang, Li, & Adhikari,
2012).
