Thus, hospitals should raise awareness on the importance of patient-centred care models to encourage nurses to think
creatively when developing nurse innovation products and services. Only through such an approach can the function of nurse innovation be fulfilled to raise customer awareness
on improvements in medical service quality and to enhance their medical service experience. 4 Establish nurse innovation diffusion and reward mechanisms Currently, hospitals in Taiwan lack comprehensive mechanisms and active input in promoting nurse innovation products and services within the hospital. However, promoting and developing innovative products and services can facilitate the innovation diffusion only by adopting an
evidence-based nursing approach, allocating additional funds and providing more resources. Therefore, hospitals should focus on fostering evidence-based nursing and allocating
sufficient funds and resources for subsequent innovation development and promotion to improve the effectiveness of the innovation diffusion, thereby improving medical service quality and experience. 5 Encourage the development of patent systems Nurses would most likely want to protect the innovative products and services they develop from infringement. A patent is the optimal method for protecting the outcomes of nurse innovation. Hospitals should encourage nurses to apply for patents for their innovative products and services
and assist nurses with filing patent applications and other related affairs. Such assistance would not only improve the willingness of nurses in applying for patents, but also increase their motivation to transform creative ideas into tangible products. Accordingly, customer medical service quality can be enhanced.
