sea at 1%, 5% and 10% levels showed subsequent increase in percentage of fungal growth inhibition and decrease at 25% (Table 2). These results suggest that the optimal concentration of N. tabacum leaf extracts was
around 10%.
The shoot length of rice seedlings of cultivar Mwangaza were significantly different (P < 0.05) when treated
with plant extracts, Apron Star® 42 WS and SDW. Seedlings of rice cultivar Mwangaza treated with Apron
Star® 42 WS had the shortest shoot length (10.71 cm) compared with those treated with plant extracts and SDW
(Table 3). There were no significant differences (P < 0.05) between the root length, dry weight, seedling growth
rate and vigour index of cultivar Mwangaza for all treatments (Table 3). These results generally indicated that,
