Royals boss Brian McDermott was delighted to keep the cup adventure alive with a comprehensive 4-0 Fourth Round win over giantkillers Walsall this afternoon.
"Walsall are a good team. I've seen them a lot, I know what they're about, they play some really good football and I hope they get promotion this season. But we did our homework on them.
"It was a bit scrappy to start with and the first goal was going to be important. It was a little bit disjointed up to that stage, but Hal got us in front with a great finish.
"I was delighted for Danny and Vyds scored a couple of goals again - I told Vyds at half-time I thought he was going to get a hat-trick today...and he did, if you count the one he tapped in off Danny's foot from an offside position!
"Vyds was upset he'd taken that one off Danny, because it was going in. And he was devastated because he's such a team player, such a great lad.
