As below we are potentially looking at placing 6 of our employees at our chosen subcontractor’s site (potentially in Thailand) for a period of about 12 months. They would be on a Fly In Fly Out basis between Australia and Thailand, on a roster of 21 days on and 7 days off. Primarily their roles will be to supervise and monitor the works performed by our chosen offshore subcontractor.
I understand that we would require work permits so I was wondering whether you would be able to provide any guidance on the work permit process, and whether we would be able to have the visas sponsored or letters of invitation from Leighton Asia? We would continue to pay the individuals through the Australian payroll.
Also, do you have any advice you can give on whether they would be required to make social security contributions and what happens from a medical perspective?
