Chinese trader: coal based PP exports to SEA not workable
A trader operating in China reported that they do not prefer to export coal based PP materials to Southeast Asia nowadays, stating, “It is difficult to export coal based PP raffia to the region based on the current market levels. We would offer the material at around $870/ton CIF SEA which would stand above the prevailing prices for Southeast Asian origins and be regarded as uncompetitive buy buyers.”
In Southeast Asia, import homo-PP raffia prices for regional origins are currently reported at $840-900/ton on a CIF, cash equivalent basis.
The trader added that they are focusing on the local market nowadays. “The local market is doing okay at the moment. Prices are fluctuating between CNY100-200/ton ($15-30/ton), which is acceptable,” the trader commented.
