Both foamate from palm oil and crude palm oil added culture media showed 100% oil displacement efficiency with diesel oil fol-lowed by Arabian light oil (84 and 76%) and heavy oil (65 and 67%).The different oil displacement efficiency might be due to the density and complexity of each tested oils, however, the surface activity of biosurfactant can be improved by the addition of electrolyte,co-surfactant and/or other surfactants [29,39]. Oil displacement efficiency with Arabian light oil of both foamate samples were higher than of crude lipopeptide from B. subtilis NRRL B-94 (74%)reported by Sitohy et al. [40]. These results demonstrate that the formate has a possibility to be used directly to remediate petroleum contaminated environments
