Cambodia has also concluded numerous agreements on economic cooperation, foreign trade, promotion and protection of investment and intellectual property rights protection. International conventions like MIGA and ICSID were ratified or signed to facilitate a more secure environment for foreign investment. Over two years ago, Cambodia became the 171st country to join the IFC which is the private sector lending affiliate of the World Bank Group. With this membership, Cambodia can have access to external funds and support. Plans are underway to establish internal capital markets to tap domestic savings and to secure additional outside capital.
