Engine type:
The current Powertainer uses a 6.7 Liter Cummins turbo diesel. Proposed future units will use a spark fired, turbo-charged, industrial GM V-8. See accompanying brochure for complete info.

Crankshaft: Forged and nitrided steel
Heads: Cast iron, high flow design
Engine exhaust emissions:
We do not yet have emission numbers for the Cummins engine based Powertainer. Measured numbers from the standard 10kW Power Pallet, with Kubota spark fired 962cc engine, are as shown in the below charts. These measurements are without any post-engine catalytic converter, filter, or other exhaust cleanup components.
The CO numbers in Table 4 were measured at stoich mixture, thus the relatively high CO amount. The second chart shows CO emission variation over different mixtures. Standard mixture configuration for our systems is 5% lean of stoich, the knee in the CO graph.
