APPLICATION PORTFOLIO FOR ANIMATION
Instructions For Animation Degrees
For this project, you will tell a story by drawing out a storyboard. The project is limited to fifteen illustrations that you have drawn yourself. The drawings can be in black and white or full color. The purpose of this project is to allow you to demonstrate your ability to create and compose a series of visual images to communicate a story with a beginning, middle, and end. Please follow these steps to complete you Application Portfolio correctly:
Story
1. Write Your Story
Create an original story from beginning to end and write it out in 12-16 brief sentences. It must be a very simple story about a conflict between two characters that is resolved, and should take place in only one location. The theme of your story will be, “A Bad Thing can be A Good Thing.” The story must be your own creation, so be careful not to use a story from a book, TV program, movie, etc.
2. Illustrate the Story
Now you will draw out your story. Print out the StoryboardSheet.pdf and use as a template for your storyboard. Write your name on each page.

3. Final Presentation of Application Portfolio
Your completed Application Portfolio will contain your visual storytelling project and your written story in a binder, organized in the following order:
1) A cover page with:
• your name
• the theme of your story
• the degree program to which you are applying
• the date of your application
2) Visual storytelling project, consisting of 12-16 story board panels in order from first to last.
3) One blank page
4) Your written story, consisting of one page with 12-16 brief sentences.
