years after clearcutting, we could detect P. attenuata in 60 % of
the soil samples taken from the area where sporocarps were
previously produced, indicating species persistence through a
significant mycelial or mycorrhizal presence. In studying primary
succession in vegetation patches in a volcanic area found that sporocarp production was not dependent
on the density of mycorrhizal root tips in the patches, but
on host size
