In recent years, the world has been facing various environmental and food safety issues affecting the people. In particular, people are increasing concerned with the safety of food products which impact their health. We have read about contaminated food such as milk powder and other dairy products being found unfit for consumption and are removed or withdrawn from the market place. Countries affected include Japan, China, the U.K., Taiwan and Malaysia just to name a few. Hence, companies in the food and drink industry are encouraged to prove the safety of their products through HACCP or ISO 22000 Food Safety Management System certification.
