This will assist in determining the end-uses of these fibres. This
work consequently focussed on separating the fibres from the sugar
cane stalk and leaves and characterising these component parts by
elemental analysis, bomb calorimetry, Fourier transform infrared
spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis
(TGA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM).
