he modification of the TOSC assay through the incorporation of a standard curve has resulted in an efficient and precise analysis of antioxidant levels in plant tissue. Apple was used as a biological indicator in order to ascertain the detection limits of the standard curve. It was found that the assay was capable of segregating minor variation in apple antioxidant levels into multiple treatment effects. In addition, it was found that 1-MCP may play a role in the retention of harvest antioxidant levels in apple fruits during storage.
