For the hydrolysis of inulin, the method of Pastore et al.
(2001) was modified. Briefly, acid and heat hydrolyses were
achieved by concentrated hydrochloric acid addition and
water bath application at 95C, respectively.About 1,980 mL of
supernatant was placed in a test tube, and 20 mL of hydrochloric
acid was added into the supernatant. After the mixture
was vortexed briefly, the tubeswere submersed in a water bath
at 95C for 15 min. These treatmentswere applied to hydrolyze
inulin fractions in supernatants.
