Self-confidence is important in staying away from tobacco, alcohol and drugs. Often, people agree to take these substances because they are easily pressured into it. Here are some ways we can reject offers to tobacco, alcohol and drugs.
Resist peer pressure
Sometimes your friends may pressure you to take tobacco, alcohol or drugs. This is peer pressure and is common.
Do not be afraid of being left out of your group of friends. You should not be forced to harm your body just to please others.
Stand up for yourself
When the people around you pressure you to do something against your own will, you need to stand up for yourself. Be firm but polite in rejectingan offer. A simple reply such as "Thank you, but I do not want it" will be good enough.
