If circumstances force me to live with a family as a complete stranger . . .my natural instinct will be to please the family and love them (it's a survival instinct). Does that mean that's how I want to be kept . . .or that's the ideal situation for me . . . No, I would feel much happier with people of my own kind/culture, who I understand.
Death is a part of life . .. That is not inhumane. I think it is more human to allow animals to be with their own kind and in their natural environment. Their purpose is not to please humans. It's because the world has become so human-centric that we are facing all types of problems on Earth like global warming, extinction of species, loss of habitats.
In one version of Tarzan . . .he was brought up by a family of apes . . .and they loved him as did he. The animals were his family . . . . Does that mean all humans should be left in the wild . . . And be the "pets" of apes and animals? If it was reversed . . . It would seem more inhumane.
I think the only reason your dog loves you . . . Is because he/she has no choice . . . Loving you guarantees survival . ... But I think domestication is cruel.
