A newly
emerging photoallergen—octyl triazone (also known asoctocrylene)—was also highlighted as being of interest. Octyl
triazone has been separately reported as a strong sensitizer
causing allergic contact dermatitis in children and photoallergic
contact dermatitis in adults, particularly in those with a
history of photoallergy to ketoprofen.8,9 This demonstrates the
importance of being aware of new sunscreen filters that can
lead to photoallergic contact reactions.
