EIC views that Para rubber prices will continue to drop further. One measure that can help improve the situation is for the government to establish research fund to promote rubber usage in industries other than tires, and stimulate new investment in such industries. Moreover, Thailand should cooperate with other rubber producing countries to implement policies that help maintain price stability in order to reduce the volatility of rubber prices and farmer incomes. These policies could also help improve farmer’s consumption behavior, such as consumption choice and financial discipline. Meanwhile, farmers will also have to adjust to the current situation, for example, by efficiently managing rubber farms to reduce the cost of production, especially for survival during periods of lower rubber prices.
