At 340 8C, the best conversion of ethanol and the best selectivity of ethylene were 99.35% and 98.44%, respectively. The yield of ethylene was as high as 97.8% and the selectivity of diethyl-ether was only 0.1%, which were better than the values reported in current literatures. The catalytic properties improved slightly (less than 0.5%) as temperature rose by 100 8C, which indicated that the suitable temperature was 340 8C.
