In our work we exploited the causal relationship between the biochemical and physiological mechanisms of light acclimation and the susceptibility of pepper plants to UV radiation. We hypothesized that higher amount of blue light in the PAR spectrum contributes for the acclimation to UV light as already described for highlight intensities.Here,we focused on light induced modifications in the composition and accumulation of leaf pigments such as chlorophylls, carotenoids and flavonoids and the impact on the photosynthetic performance. In addition,morphological a daptations at leaf and whole plant level were determined.
