I was not sure how long I had been sleeping when I awoke with a start. Except for the gentle breaking of waves on the shore, it was very quiet around us; too quiet. I felt the hair at the back of my neck rising. An unexplained chill ran through my body. So I got up and left the tent. Outside it was pitch-dark except for the twinkling stars above and the shimmering surface of the sea below. I sat down on the wet grass trying to figure out what caused the uneasiness within me.
