In a DSC study on LiC6, an irreversible exothermal peak with an
onset at around 80 C was observed [10]. Due to the fact that the
same peak did also appear for other lithium carbon intercalation
compounds, but not for de-intercalated graphite, this DSC peak
was attributed to the Li ion depletion out of the graphite host
lattice.
Furthermore, a reversible phase transformation at 440 C was
reported [8,18]. This transformation was interpreted in terms of a
reversible order–disorder phase transition in LiC6, which had also
previously been reported at 442 C [17,19].
