“Politics”
• Heywood (2002) examined the different views of
politics as follow:
Politics as the art of government – The notion of politics amounts to “what concerns the state” This highly restrict view of politics.
Politics as public affair – The distinction between the political and nonpolitical coincides with the division between public sphere of life and a private sphere.
“Politics”
Politics as compromise and consensus – Politics is seen as a particular means of resolving conflict by compromise, conciliation and negotiation.
Politics as power and the distribution of resources – It concerns the production, distribution and
use of resources in the course of social existence.
