Tom yum kung is a Thai soup. Usually cooked with shrimp. Tom yum is widely served in countries neighboring Thailand such as Combodia , Brunei Malaysia and Singapore and has become popular around the world.
Literally the name “Tom yum” derives from two Thai word : - “tom” and “yum”. “Tom” refers to the boiling process, while “Yum” refers to a Thai spicy and sour salad. Indeed ,tom yum has distant hot and sour flavor, with fragrant spices and herbs generously used in the broth.
