1. Glass ampoules of 0.5 to 1 mL of extended semen.
2. Glyvinyl chloride straws of 0.25 to 0.5 mL of extended
semen.
3. Pelleted semen of approximately 0.1 mL
The glass ampoules are still generally in use. The straws are
gaining wide popularity because they require less storage
space, have better freezing characteristics and suffer less
sperm loss especially in the USA.
