The goal of this research was to compare the agile method Scrum to the Project Management process areas of the CMMI model, showing the gaps and the strengths between them.
From this mapping we conclude that Scrum does not cover all the specificpractices of the project management process area, but it could be tailored to be more compliant with CMMI. On the other hand, we can conclude that a plan-driven process based on CMMI model can be improved by adding some Scrum agile practices to their activities.
