สุนทรพจน์ในอนาคตของเด็กอาเซียน ประเทศไทย
On behalf of the Thai Government and the co organizer of the Ministerial Regional Forum on Environment and Health in the Southeast and East Asian Countries, it is an honor and a privilege for me to deliver the closing statement.
The Chulabhorn Research Institute, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and Ministry of Public Health have cooperate very closely with WHO and UNEP Regional Offices to organize this event and we are pleased that it has been so successful.
We have spent the whole day to work together strenuously to peruse and to adopt the Regional Charter on Environment and Health for our regions. What we have done has testified our strong concern and commitment to the national and regional cooperation on environment and health. This will facilitate and strengthen the interactions and dialogues at the technical level between government ministries and agencies concerned that have been established towards the more efficient implementation of the Regional Charter.
We have started an important initiative that requires proactive and efficient collaboration and cooperation at both national and regional levels. The Regional Thematic Work plans and the National Environmental Health Action Plans of the member countries need to be effectively executed, monitored and updated. The regional and national mechanisms for executing the Regional Thematic Work plans and the National Environmental Health Action Plans need to be developed and supported. There are a lot more tasks waiting for us to undertake to fulfill the aims of the Regional Charter.
I would like to express our profound gratitude to Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Valailak, Professor Sir Gordon Conway, Dr. Margaret Ann Liu, and Professor Nay Htun for the contribution in the opening session and scientific round table discussion this morning. I also would like to express my sincere thank to all of you for participating in this important meeting, providing comprehensive, candid and constructive suggestions and recommendations and expressing concerns about Environment and Health in the Southeast and East Asian Countries. I also would like to extend my thanks to all those who involves in the preparation and conducting this very important and successful meeting.
In concluding, I would like to extend to all of you my best wishes for your good health, the success of your missions and your personal safety. I look forward to the Second Ministerial Regional Meeting to be hosted by the Korea Government three years from now.
I am delighted to announce the closing of this Ministerial Regional Forum on Environment and Health in the Southeast and East Asian Countries.
Thank you.
