Both Vi and Ki are temperature sensitive. The magnitude of Vi decreases by about 2 m V for every 1 ‘C rise in temperature. This decrease in [Vi] give rise to a corresponding increase in drain current as temperature is increased. However, because k’ decreases with temperature and its effect is a dominant one. The overall observed effect of a temperature increase is a decrease in drain current. This very interesting result is put to use in applying the MOSFET in power circuits (Chapter 9).
