Global Warming is an increase in the Earth's atmospheric and oceanic temperatures. It is said to occur due to an increase in the greenhouse effect resulting especially from pollution. The Greenhouse Effect takes place when the sun’s waves reach the Earth as short wave radiation and bounce back into space when they hit the Earth’s surface, objects, people or clouds as long wave radiation. Some of the long wave radiation is trapped by a blanket of gases, called greenhouse gases, to keep the Earth warm. Global Warming takes place when this blanket thickens as more gases are added to it, trapping more heat causing the Earth’s temperature to rise.
