Performing truncation selection in both dissemination steps caused increased profit both in the multiplier and in the grow-out tier. Fig. 3 shows that with the Trunc_intense scheme, the multiplier tier had a higher genetic level than the nucleus tier, due to the stronger selection. Relative economic weights in the nucleus were wCAND/wSIB = 50/50, and in the multiplier and to the grow-out they were ♂vCAND/vSIB = 50/50 for the males selected from nucleus and ♀vCAND/vSIB = 100/0 for the dams that were phenotype selected in the multiplier. The genetic correlations between CAND and SIB (rg) were 0. Furthermore, the difference in profit in the grow-out tier between Trunc_intense and Rand was substantial, significant (P < 0.05) and approximately constant over generations
