In earlier studies (Song et al., 2007; Zhang et al., 2009; Zhu
et al., 2008), we found that the photocatalyst PFT/TiO2 has
strong absorption in the range of 360e500 nm according to
diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS) study. Scanning
electron microscopy (SEM) images of TiO2 and PFT/TiO2
indicated that PFT was evenly dispersed on the surface of
TiO2 without apparent agglomeration, and that the particle
size of TiO2 was not significantly changed after modification
by PFT.
To obtain further information on the surface properties of
PFT/TiO2, FT-IR spectra of TiO2 and PFT/TiO2 were measured
(Fig. 2). The broad peak at 3400 cm1 corresponds to the OeH
stretch region, whereas the peak at 1630 cm1 results from the
OeH bending of adsorbed water molecules. In the spectrum of
