The low glucosinolate content may partially explain the lack of detrimental
effects of CM on growth performance of weaned pigs in the present study. Additionally, the reduced growth performance of
pigs fed CM observed in previous studies could be explained by the nutrient content in diets formulated for total essential
amino acids and digestible energy rather than digestible amino acids and NE. Formulating swine diets using the NE and SID
amino acid systems reduces risks associated with including co-products.
