In the present extension to WISH-FLEX, a new approach is introduced for the analysis of springing problem in very large modern commercial ships. To this end, a hybrid BEMFEM method has been developed as a method of solution. That is, WISH program is coupled with the finite element method which approximates the hull structure to a set of Vlasov beam element. During this development, a lot of effort has been made for the numerical tests of coupling scheme, timemarching method, and many other details. For the validation of WISH-FLEX, comparative studies with a frequency-domain program and comparison with experimental data have been performed for real commercial ships.
