VI. CONCLUSION AND OUTLOOK
New learning concepts are critical for educating tomorrow’s
design engineers in embedded systems. Therefore, in
this paper we presented a multi-core processor for embedded
systems aiming at a holistic approach for teaching the design
of parallel processors. The detailed integration into present
classes was shown along with a discussion of the key topics in teaching parallel architecture concepts. In the end, students
were not only able to design embedded multi-core architectures
by themselves but were also able to develop an IC to be
fabricated.
