The adoption of e-cash by end-users is a required step in realizing a fully automated, information-transparent supply chain. It would thus be interesting to understand how end-user usage of other front end services may change with e-cash acceptance. This piece of information, if available, may be fed back to other upstream players in the supply chain. There could be significant implications in their system designs. Logistics information systems developers may find this kind of front end, almost real-time, information particularly useful.
