Ten Citrus varieties were grown at the National Citrus Germplasm
Repository, Citrus Research Institute of Chinese Academy
of Agricultural Sciences, Chongqing, China (Table 1). Fruits were
harvested at the commercial maturity stage based on external colour
and size uniformity. After harvest, Citrus fruits were divided
into peel (flavedo and albedo), pulp (segment epidermis and juice
vesicle) and seed. The juice was squeezed from the pulp manually.
The peels, pulp residues, juices and seeds were used for further
study.
