Registration Types
Full: An outright registration of a vessel upon the provision of all Registration Forms, Supporting Documentation, and the payment of relevant Fees.

Interim: Available during the course of a transfer of ownership regarding a “foreign” owned and flagged ship transferring to an owner that qualifies to own a Cayman vessel and who intends to register the vessel in Cayman.
Provisional: This is not a pre-requisite but instead is a temporary exception to full vessel registration. It may be used where Cayman is not yet in possession of theCertificate of Survey for the vessel and it is difficult or impossible to do full registration within commercial time constraints. A British Consul, or a British High Commissioner in a British Commonwealth Country will issue a Provisional Certificate of Registry as a “one-time” Certificate valid for up to 90 days with no extension provisions on behalf of Cayman.
Under Construction: Vessels that are under construction and any related mortgages may be registered.
Demise (Bareboat) Charter: Cayman offers both Demise Charter Out and Demise Charter In vessel registration.
