The present study also noticed a significant upregulation of POX and PPO genes in TN Vel-35-treated plants infected with A. solani over thepathogencontrol(Figs. 3 and4), whichfurther supports the observed enhanced biosynthesis of POX and PPO enzymes. Rapid and strong induction of POX and PPO genes was also detected in tomato plants pretreated with P. fluorescens and infected with R. solanacearum, a bacterium of wilt disease [26]. Many other genes encoding defense-related proteins were also found to be induced in Lilium formosanum treated with PGPR (B. cereus) and Botrytis elliptica that causes leaf blight [65].
