Climbing Fuji
Around 300,000 people climb Mount Fuji every year during the summer climbing season. There are 5 different routes up the mountain. Each route has stations that provide services such as food or lodging. Most people climb the mountain starting from the 5th station rather than from the bottom. Public transportation and parking lots are available at the 5th stations.
Climbing Fuji-san (from the 5th station) takes around 12 hours round trip. The hike doesn't require any special skills. However, many people experience altitude sickness.
