The pH and a modified pH-buffering capacity analysis
performed after the pretreatment of the straw and after defibration
of fibres from each trial (RA, RB, RC, and RD) are
presented in (Table 3). Different loadings of hydrogen peroxide
during defibration influenced the pH and the buffering capacity.
The pH buffering capacity is presented as the amount of
titration solution (ml of 0.1N H2SO4) required to reduce the pH
of straw and fibre samples to a level of pH 3.0.
