PIN FAILS
Pin failures generally occur due to loading greatlyin excess of the rated capacity of the chain.
LINK PLATES FAILS
1. Link Plate failures are the result of repetitively loading the chain in excess of its endurance limit.
2. Pulsating drive conditions can also initiate link plate failures.
ROLLER OR BUSHING FAILS
1. Cracked rollers occur if chain capacity is exceeded at high speeds due to impact against sprocket teeth.
2. Cracked or "opened" rollers can also occur as a result of heavy loading at low speeds.
3. Tooth marks on the outside diameter of rollers can initiate failure.
