The purpose of this research is to gain an understanding of how adult pre-service teachers
make sense of their experiences in the context of student teaching while attending a career
college. The following research questions will guide this exploration: How do returning adult
learners, who are enrolled in a teacher preparation program within a career college, understand
and make sense of their experiences in this program? While the purpose of this research is to
understand how these students make sense of their experiences in teacher preparation, I am also
interested in knowing to what extent these experiences evoke a reconstruction of identity.
